I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.
Louisa May Alcott
Resilience is one of the most important determinants of success.
While we do our best to chart our own course, life will always throw something at us that we couldn’t have predicted. It’s easy to get stuck focusing on “the storm,” but this is a distraction because the storm is here, it’s happening – we can’t make it stop.
But we can find ways to “weather” the storm by accepting what is happening and then choosing how we want to respond.
Then, when the seas are calm again, we can learn from the experience and develop a plan for any bad weather in the future.
Together we will compassionately and curiously seek to discover your true self, develop effective coping skills, and remain focused on your priorities.
With non-judgmental authenticity, and a little bit of humor, we will explore your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs to bring forth your strengths and identify the barriers getting in the way of your personal growth.
We will use evidence-based treatments such as DBT, CBT, Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems, but therapy works best with an individualized approach.
